Born on March 29, 1980 in Cluj-Napoca, Cosmin HĂRŞIAN began studying the clarinet at the age of ten at the Music School in Bistrița, continuing his musical training at the Art High School in Baia Mare. He graduated from the Faculty of Music in Timișoara in 2004, after which he won a scholarship for a master's degree at the University of Northern Illinois. After completing his master's degree, he obtained the Hamilton scholarship for doctoral studies at the University of Kansas, in 2009 being awarded the title of Doctor of Musical Arts, specializing in musical interpretation - clarinet.
A versatile musician, Cosmin HĂRŞIAN has been appreciated for his concerts held at prestigious events that took place in the United States, Canada, China and Europe. He has given multiple solo recitals and with various chamber music groups, being awarded prizes at important national and international clarinet competitions; most recently, in 2007, he was the winner of the musical interpretation competition of the Blue Lake Fine Arts festival in Michigan. In his professional development, Mr. Hărșian had the opportunity to work in master classes with big names from the international clarinet community. Among these personalities are: Karl Leister, Bil Jackson, David Etheridge, Russell Dagon, Loren Kitt, Paul Garner, Michael Wayne, Frank Kowalsky and others. The clarinet teachers who contributed significantly to his artistic training were: Prof. Dr. Stephanie Zelnick, Prof. Dr. Larry Maxey, Prof. Dr. Gregory Barrett and Conf. Univ. Rodica Sas.
Between 2006 and 2009, he worked as an assistant professor in the clarinet class at the University of Kansas, and is currently a university lecturer at the Faculty of Music and Theater at the West University of Timișoara.
